Carb Killa® Strawberries and Cream Ice Cream

We all love a scoop or two of the sweet stuff, especially when the sun is shining. Maybe salted caramel’s right up your street or perhaps you like to keep it simple and opt for classic vanilla? Whatever your flavour, we know you won’t be able to resist this delicious Strawberries and Cream ice cream, created by sweet-treat extraordinaire Elkie Chiu. Ingredients

250ml Carb Killa® Shake, Strawberries and Cream
250g Total 2% Greek yoghurt
50g Hydra 6® protein powder, Strawberry Seige
150g frozen strawberries
50g granulated sweetener
½ tsp Xanthan Gum
100g diced fresh strawberries
white chocolate chips (optional)

Method

1.

To start, place all of the ingredients (except the fresh strawberries and the chocolate chips) into a food processor and blitz for approximately two minutes until the mixture is creamy and smooth

If you are using an Ice Cream Maker, pour the mixture into the maker and follow the manufacturer’s instructions to set. Then, place the ice-cream into a deep Pyrex dish and fold in the fresh strawberries and chocolate chips. Put the ice-cream into the freezer for an hour to freeze.

 

If you’re making the ice-cream by hand, pour the mixture into a deep Pyrex dish and fold in the diced strawberries and white chocolate chips. Cover with a lid or cling film and freeze for an hour. After an hour, remove from the freezer and stir vigorously, breaking up any frozen sections. Smooth the mixture over and freeze for a further hour. Repeat this step 3-4 times until the ice-cream is set and smooth. The more vigorously you stir, the smoother your ice-cream will be.

Once your ice-cream is ready to serve, scoop into a dessert dish or onto a cone and enjoy!
